Nowadays Valentine’s Day is seen as a big day where you shower your beau with all the best you can offer which often cost beyond an arm and a leg. It’s sometimes hard to not get caught up in all the materialism of Valentine’s Day but know that there’s nothing wrong with going back to basics to make your loved one feel ultra special. There are plenty of different ways to make Valentine’s worthwhile without breaking the bank.
You might be feeling the pressure to go out and buy something fancy for your guy, but honestly there’s still nothing that beats a handmade gift. I’m a sucker for handmade gifts since I know that special person had taken the time and effort to go out of their way to make and add their own personal touches to my gift. It just shows that you don’t need to spend a fortune on someone you love just to show that you care enough about them.
A creative handwritten letter, a playful and funny coupon book, or even an artistic photo of you both vacationing in a memorable city are just a few ideas to get you started. My personal favourite DIY project is making handmade cards out of colourful crafting paper. It sounds so simple, yet even something so minimal can have a great impact on how someone can feel. When creating cards I can customize them with inside jokes or things the person generally likes, all while I’m unleashing my creativity and feelings for this wonderful someone.
Similar to the DIYers, this type of person will treat Valentine’s Day like any other day but with a lot more added extra twists. It could be an entire day of small yet sweet and special surprises waiting for your loved one. This type of love doesn’t need all the glitz and glam for it to be true romance – cuddling up in bed, going out to the movies, heading to an outdoor festival, or preparing a fun home-cooked meal together is just as perfect.
A great way to start off the morning would be a wonderful surprise of breakfast in bed (or out of bed) for your beau. If you’re not sure what to prepare then a classic yet favourable plate of pancakes, maple syrup, fruit, topped with some icing sugar and cocoa powder, served with a glass of orange juice is always a winner. Don’t be afraid to get cute and creative with it by cutting up the pancakes or even the fruits into heart shapes. Hey, you can allow yourself to be a cheeseball for one day!
This day could truly be all about just wanting to stay in bed and pleasing your partner which is more than totally fine! I believe sex is an important part in our lives which helps us to bond and get closer with our partner. Unless you’re already an awesome girlfriend – not all of us usually take the time to bust out the sexy lingerie, let alone bring out toys for you both to really play. Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to experiment with your loved one, and using some of your favourite playful gadgets will really spice things up.
For starters, a bunny bullet vibrator can be used just about anywhere on the body and has very intense tingles that really do heat things up quickly when the ears are placed on all the right pleasure points. Perhaps your man wants to tease and have some more control over you in the bedroom, so a double stimulation vibrator is the perfect additional to increase sensations all over. Not to mention both heads rotate for maximize pleasure – just imagine how powerful and fun this would be for both you and your partner. We all know men are visual creatures so why not help create the visuals on Valentine’s, right?!
Having a good time together doesn’t always have to require blowing off a lot of money for it to happen. If you and your special someone are into mixing things up, taking a spontaneous road trip for a weekend or even a day is probably your perfect Valentine’s. Venturing off into a different city or even a different country will really stir things up – might I add, you really get to know someone more when driving and having deep conversations along the way.
To make the trip even more interesting, making little pits stops in random places can make into a really fun game for you both. Perhaps going to one of your hometowns for a peek, visiting famous monuments, eating at new restaurants or trying out new cuisines, finding unique or hidden special areas (with caution!), or getting out of the car and hiking up a mountain to see a beautiful view. Be sure to not miss out on watching sunrises and sunsets for an extra touch of romance. Oh, and don’t forget to bring that Polaroid camera with extra film!
I hope these ideas and tips help create the perfect Valentine’s Day for you and your beau! xo.
