Surprisingly enough I’ve only mildly experimented with aromatherapy in the past. It all started when I was trying to help treat my horrible insomnia, and so I had started playing around with aromas to get my mind in a relaxed state for a better night’s rest.  Different scents and aromas really do trigger many types of feelings and emotions – it’s just about finding the right ones to suit your needs.

Here&Now Botanicals were nice enough to help me out with a few products to try out. With so many things on my mind I’ve been finding it difficult to focus on one thing at a time, so I thought I’d get some reinforcements. The Stay Focused Aromatherapy Mist has a very distinctive citrus scent with hints of floral that noticeably awakens the scenes. I like to spray this into the air right before I’m about to write, study, or anything that really needs full concentration.

All you ladies can relate when I say our periods can be an unpleasant time – both physically and emotionally! If I had a better clue of knowing aromatherapy can help ease things during this time I would have gotten it a lot sooner. She Aromatherapy Oil has a strong scent of peppermint and rose which can be very smoothing to smell especially during that time of month. The rollerball makes it easy to apply the oil to the temples, along the hairline, and even onto the abdomen when those cramps occurs. I love the modern packaging that it is conveniently small enough to fit anywhere and travel with.

To encourage my hoarding lip balm habits, Here&Now Botanicals also threw in an all natural Chai Latte Lip Balm. I appreciated this add-on since anything with the words “natural” and “chai latte” always makes me happy! I like having the very light spicy scent to my all-time favourite drink right on my lips. The best part is the super smooth and buttery formula that is infused with all types of nourishing ingredients such as one of my favourites, coconut oil.

What are your thoughts on aromatherapy?

  1. This sounds amazing! I’ve just recently purchased a few roller ball aromatherapy oils from Winners- and I don’t know how I made it without them before! Especially for headache or time of the month (like you said!)
The lip balm sounds delish as well! (not that you should eat it………)

I’m a bit of a hippy when it comes to certain medications so I really prefer not to take anything when I have a headache so aromatherapy helps and it generally just puts you in a relaxing state! Hahah trust me I want to eat it but can’t!

That chai latte lip balm sounds delicious! And aromatherapy can definitely help with insomnia (hopefully it helped you). I don’t use it all the time but I do have the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow spray that helps me get to sleep when I’m having trouble.

I would love to give these a try! I’ve never quite felt any healing properties from aromatherapy but I’m definitely obsessed with scented oils. MUJI has this amazing diffuser that I’d love to own and they offer a wide range of scents as well!

Sorry to hear you once had insomnia, I had a friend who suffered from that and I know how tricky it can be! I discovered aromatherapy for calming qualities a few years ago, though have since only dabbled in it. Thanks for the reminder of the various benefits 🙂

    • Stacey says:

Insomnia really messes with you, I use to only be able to get 3-4 hours of sleep and that wasn’t even a straight nights rest..so I feel for your friend too! It’s awesome how just smelling something can change the mood and atmosphere <3

  21. never tried this but maybe i should start 😮
i always walk into muji and they have those diffusers and they smell amazing

I was the same before, mostly skeptical but it has helped a lot more than I ever thought. You should really try it out! 😀
