Balms to the rescue

The cold and dry air of winter can take a major toll on our skin and especially on our lips. For someone who naturally always has dry lips such as myself, it can be a struggle to find that perfect lip balm that won’t stop working no matter what season it is. Instead of working against nature, I’ve been listening to what my skin wanted and went with more natural ingredients for my everyday lip care.

Ellovi Vanilla Lip Butter
This was a bit of a late last year discovery but I’ve mentioned this lip butter balm in my 2015 year end favourites as one of the best I’ve tried out in awhile. Ellovi is a brand that is getting more exposure especially in the all natural and vegan communities since their products are 100% concentrated and only include six ingredients that apparently are so pure that you could even eat them if you wanted to (maybe don’t though). Their Vanilla Lip Butter that I own goes on very smooth, lasts a long time on the lips, and smells exactly like vanilla which I adore since it’s not a pungent scent.

ChopSaver Lip Balm
Being that this is the newest addition to my lip balm collection it didn’t take long before I loved it enough to have it join in on my daily skincare regimen. Although I had never heard of this brand until I was sent samples of it, I’m quite surprised how underrated it is. I’m pretty hesitant when it comes to purchasing new lip balms that are raved or hyped up about since none of the ones that I’ve tried ever worked. I’m really happy to have discovered this one since it’s seriously the best lip balm I’ve ever tried. Ever since I’ve been using ChopSaver my lips are always very hydrated, never peel or crack, and are always super smooth. I also love that the formula consist of ten certified organic ingredients, is gluten free, and made in the USA.

Hurraw! Night Treatment Balm
I’ve also mentioned this on my 2015 year end favourites, however the Hurraw! brand was one of the first premium organic, vegan, and raw ingredients lip balms I’ve tried. I love all of them but their Night Treatment Balm is my number one staple to always have in hand with me wherever I go. This baby is always in my handbag, on my night stand, and always comes with me when I travel since it’s not only is perfect for nighttime but for daily use for when my lips need the extra TLC as well. The blue chamomile mixed with the vanilla scent is still strange to me, but I love how the product works that I can get over the smell.

What are your go-to lip balms?

  1. Each of these products sound amazing! I’ve seen reviews of the chopsaver on other blogs which are pretty good! Currently I’m using my trusty Burt’s Bees and an EOS balm. I would love to give these vegan/ natural ones a try!

I love the Elovi as well! I also own a tinted version. 🙂

  3. Thanks for putting these on my radar! I have the same issue with super dry lips and just like you said all the ones that are raved about don’t quite hit my high expectations lol I think the vegan one sounds especially awesome 🙂

Yea I’ve wasted lots of money on the ones that were hyped up 🙁 These ones are seriously the best ones so if you ever get a hold on any I’d love to know how it works on you!

      • Yes i’ll have to get one (or all) and let you know but I trust your opinion so i’m sure they’re great! its like 90% of of the chapstick companies have it in for us poor chapped lipped buyers lol

Hahah the problem with these regular chapstick companies is they have a lot more chemicals in their products then they tell us I’m sure which promotes even more of the dryness. Just shame on them!
