Battle of the Balms

As girls (possibly some guys), we tend to be Lip Balm hoarders. Just admit it! We know we have PLENTY of lip products scattered around at home- yet we get tempted by new colours, essential oils, scents, “all natural”, and cute packaging. We just can’t get enough!

Well here’s your chance to add even more to your collection!

Marc Jacobs 10 Makeout Lip Lock Moisture Balm

This is a great lip balm – it is buttery on the lips and long lasting, but for the retail price of C$29 makes it a bit of a pain on your wallet. Since there are other more affordable balms that are up to par with this product, I’m not sure that it is a true must. But regardless the packaging is hella cute.

Repurchase?: If money grew on trees – probably. But they don’t so probably not.

The Body Shop Hemp Lip Conditioner

I never really had good luck with The Body Shop lip balms before but I’m already in LOVE with their Hemp collection, so I went ahead and gave this one a chance. It glides on smoothly and is an intense moisturizing treat for your lips.

Smith’s Rosebud Salve

If you are looking for a very reliable and versatile balm then this is the one. As a long time purchaser of this products – this has never let me down.  It’s not only wonderful for your lips, but it can be used on dry hands, rashes, and cuticles (great for those of you who are Hairstylist! If you are one, you know what I am talking about). I definite must have for all!

Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Medicated Balm in Berry Soft

I own 3 of the original Baby Lips, so I was excited to try this new collection. However, the Dr. Rescue collection was a waa-waa-waaaaaaa for me. It didn’t keep any moisture to my lips, and I’m not sure if it was just this colour, but it emphasized the lines on my lips.

Jack Black Intense Lip Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 in Vanilla & Lavender

I started off buying this line for my boyfriend but slowly began to notice the wide range of lip balms they had. Besides the cool packing, the balm works awesome in the summer time. Sometimes I like to apply this at night before bed since the vanilla and lavender smell is very relaxing.

Lip Ointment Carmex

This is pretty much all you need for winter, especially if you are doing any winter sports or any sport in general since it powerfully stays on and moisturizes the entire time.

Athens Korres Lip Butter in Quince

My lips are looking very lifeless since it is sadly still winter where I am. But Korres has come to the rescue! The only hassle is that it fades and needs to be applied more often than preferred, but it is not enough to be a true con.

Vaseline Lip Therapy Original

Who doesn’t have Vaseline in their household? It is not only a staple but it is very versatile. Years ago, Tyra Banks flipped on out over this so it’s gotta be that good! It is the ultimate moisturizer.

Repurchase?: Always will

Sleek MakeUP Pout Polish SPF 15 in Pink Cadillac

I did a haul on these Pout Polishes last month and so far Pink Cadillac is getting a lot of my attention. It is similar to the Korres Lip Butters, but the perk about this product is the SPF 15. These are going to be useful in the summer time!

Repurchase?: Yes, without a doubt

Suvana Organic Certified Organic Paw Paw & Honey Balm

This keeps your lips feeling their best when it’s according to Suvana’s schedule. Yea, it sounds weird but let me explain. This is not the best product to be carrying around on a hot summer day since it will turn into pure liquid, and when applied will just drip down your chin. And as for winter, it becomes a tad tough to even get out the tube because it is frozen. So the best time to apply this is indoors with a lightly cool temperature. Quite particular if you ask me…

I’d love to know what Lip Balms you tried out or have in your hoarder collection 🙂
