Casual

When you can’t seem to find or decide on an outfit for the day, the best option is usually to go casual. Some people can completely rock the very casual almost ‘couldn’t care less’ look, while others just end up looking as though they rolled out of bed and picked the first thing they found in their wardrobe to wear — although that’s precisely what they did. Still there are some easy ways you can look effortlessly cool and put together.

Oversized sweater

When in doubt or in a rush, I always grab go for an oversized sweater or cardigan. This style has been around in the fashion world forever and it always works when done right. You can also steal one from a boyfriend, or hang onto one the next time you break up with a guy (joking, but seriously you can just go to the men’s section and buy your own as an independent woman). Some may not dig the oversized look, and although it can look messy at times, it can still look very stylish at the same time. Pair it with your favourite skinny jeans, leggings or fashionable tights; It also looks pretty edgy when worn on it’s own with bare legs and some pumps.

White shoes

There’s just something about any white pair of shoes that can really make any look very polished. What you want is a good minimalistic pair that you’ll feel comfortable walking around in. I personally love the look of plain white sneakers with a pair of ripped jeans — better yet, I love dressing down a maxi dress with them as well. White shoes are deinrely a staple everyone needs in their wardrobe no matter what.

Baggy t

Matching your white shoes with a plain tee and some jeans is such a simple look that works every time. You’ll find that this is a great way to minimize your style while still looking fashionable for the day. It may sound silly, but it’s actually quite difficult to find the perfect tee that looks amazing on you. So when you do find that perfect fit, buy extras or in multiple colours as well. Basic pieces are always the way to go for perfect casual outfits.

High-waist jeans

Whether they’re high-waist jeans or mom jeans, anything that will make your booty poppin’ will do the job (excuse my language for a second). These have come back in style and if you don’t believe it, just check out one of the latest episodes of Pretty Little Liars because you know those girls are always on trend. I’ve also recently come to the conclusion that high-waisted jeans flattered my body type the most. When I’m short on time, I especially love to pair them with a white tee that’s tied at the waist with some white sneakers.

How do you keep it casual?

Gosh, I long to be able to rock the ‘off-duty’ look – I tend to opt for a statement t shirt and highwaisted jeans, it’s become a real uniform of late!

I use to be all about the statement tees but I got rid of many that I wished I kept so I’ve kind of been building a small collection again..and when I mean small, I mean 4 hahha I really need more!

I’m one of those people that can’t pull off casual or loose outfits, as much as I want to! I think a nice, plain top would go well, and yeah high waisted jeans sound good 🙂 x

Perhaps you just need to find the right type of fit? It takes of trial or error even with casual looks lol, but I’m sure you can pull it off!
