Confidence crushers

It’s very rare to go through life completely confident. Even if it doesn’t seem like it, everyone has worries and insecurities – nor do we all know how to handle these things well either. Personally, when I start to feel anxious or self-conscious, I try to gather my thoughts to what could be the cause.

One of the biggest things that can cause confidence issues in us all is our skin. Whether you suffer from acne or the occasional aggressive outbreak, it can be soul destroying – and as someone who suffered from adult acne for a long time, I would know. Unfortunately sometime our hormones take control, and there’s not a lot we can do to fix the detrimental effects on our skin. Instead having a visit to the dermatologist might be the answer. They can easily diagnose the issues and recommend treatments (find out more about this at Cosmetic Laser Dermatology) best suited for your skin.

The way we dress doesn’t always lead to feeling a lack of confidence, but the way we dress can make us feel more confident. It might sound strange, but you can influence how you feel with what you wear. If you’re getting ready for an interview, an important meeting or even a date, what you choose to wear can take control of both your mood and confidence levels. Nowadays it really doesn’t take much time or money to look and feel amazing! I always say, ‘find a style that best suits who you are, or who you want to be’.

Just like our skin, teeth can be a huge contributing factor to how we feel about ourselves. We all want and strive for those perfectly straight pearly whites. Luckily we have so many ways to fix up these issues. I’ve been through braces, retainers, professional teeth whitening to achieve that smile I’ve always wanted. To maintain healthier teeth, I suggest using at home whitening kits, whitening tooth paste, or use more natural methods such as oil-pulling.

It’s said that active people are always happier. I don’t know about you, but if I miss a day or two of my regular exercise routine I feel sluggish and unmotivated to do anything. Exercising isn’t just always about the vanity reasons – it’s about a healthier lifestyle which is always a wonderful confidence boost. In the past I’ve made the mistake of just exercising for the sake of exercising, but the type of exercises you choose to do can make a difference. Always pick ones that you know you’ll enjoy, yet are still challenging.

We all realize it now that anxiety is more common than ever at the moment. Some of us experience it once in awhile, while others may suffer from it on a daily basis. It’s tough to live with and can affect your everyday decisions in life, as well as take a huge toll on your confidence. I’ll be one to admit that I’ve sought help from my doctor – just know that asking for help isn’t going to bother anyone. A lot more people will be there for you and listen than you may think.

I know what you mean our confidence plunge when our skin goes absolutely bonkers, I have two huge zits on my forehead and cheek now. I feel so self conscious about them and don’t feel like leaving the house.
