Although there are no strict rules to follow by on trends – all day, everyday, I enjoy using accents of colour in my wardrobe no matter the season. Especially now that the majority of us tend to gravitate towards neutrals and darker toned clothing, it’s a fun contrast to play with some small but bold details of colour.

Going forward with the ‘details theme’ – I don’t know if it comes with age, but I find myself paying more attention to my surroundings. For the last few months, I and like a lot of people, have been inspired by the clean and minimalistic look of the Scandinavian style. Shopping for my place has been an interesting switch up since I find myself asking if certain decorations or placements of furniture are photo worthy. Is this a normal thing or am I too brainwashed by various Instagram feeds??

Regardless of the growing popularity of ‘minimal’, there’s no denying the pleasing aesthetic of it. I think we can all learn something from this type of style/trend – I’ve for sure learned a lot. If there’s only one thing I will remember from this year, it would be that less is more in all aspects of life.

  1. Oh my goodness, you’re definitely not the only one who shops for home decor and wonders whether it’s photo worthy haha. But I guess we’ve always kind of been like that – I mean we want to make sure our houses look good for guests when they come over as well… so we’ve always been in the mindset to show-off and have nice things (but now we actually take pictures of our things lol.)
I love your outfit and your details with the bracelets – also, your cactus is adorable.

Lol you’re right! I still know so many people who value having a lot of things so I feel it’s nice to show to them that you don’t need a lot for a space to look so chic and stylist lol! 😛 The cactus I picked out seem like a reject because the other ones were selling more than this guy so I had to buy him :]

  3. It is true that the minimalistic scandinavian style is very calming. It’s clean, and fresh, and there is never any clutter. Although now that you mention it– I’m guessing THAT is the reason why there are so many ‘minimalistic’ lifestyle videos cropping up on my youtube feed recently. ahah, I get it now. Even so, as you say, there is definitely a beauty to tiny detail– the subtlety of it– that gives it that same feeing of calming freshness that minimalism has. Furthermore– I agree with lindsey: your cactus is adorable.

Hahah well it’s good that people are finally realizing that they don’t need all these things and clutter in their lives to be happy! I think especially in a world of chaos we need a clean and minimal space to not stress us out even more lol

  4. In today’s day we’re so consumed with attaining that we forget we don’t really need much at all. And minimalism just goes to show that we don’t need a lot and we can still look undeniably stylish (if not more so)

So true! I’ve been slowly decluttering my space and I’m surpirsed with how much shit (aka ‘stuff’) I’ve accumulated. It’s so nice to throw or donate things <3

Haha it’s definitely a normal thing, I always think before purchasing something if and how I can use it on my photos! Love your outfit and your bracelets, so pretty! x
