Dark and mauve toned lip colours are always in style and perfect for going into the fall season. But as the temperatures get cooler they tends to be drying and it’s usually always our lips that take a beating. Dry cracked lips just aren’t a cute look with a vampy red lip wouldn’t you say?
The first step is to prep the lips – the best way to keep away from cracks and dry patches is to exfoliate. My personal favourite is with a DIY sugar scrub using brown sugar and olive oil mixed together which is easy for anyone to whip up at home. Afterwards applying a lip treatment is a must. I’ve been using the Arbonne Intelligence Lip Treatment for 3 weeks now and this just became my new favourite. What intrigues me the most is that the formula comes out of the tube like cream, but applies like cool water, and absorbs lots of moisture into the lips quickly.
As mentioned, you don’t always need a dark lip to get into the fall mood, in fact a mauve berry lip colour is usually my choice to rock out during this time. The Arbonne Smoothed Over Lipstick in Aster is the perfect example of a great everyday lip colour that is very flattering on most or if not all skin tones.
Although I own a few deeper shades lipsticks I’ve never been one that was really into wearing them out in public. I truly believe it’s only because I haven’t found the right shades that made me comfortable enough to wear out. However, Arbonne’s Smoothed Over Lipstick in Dahlia has won me over. It’s a very deep cranberry red that has a lot of appeal and is quite sexy on.
Over the last few years a lot of lipglosses have been through a major upgrade pigment and generally overall formula wise. I’m weak when it comes to lipgloss and I’m pretty sure my collection of them is a lot greater than my lipstick collection. Arbonne’s Glossed Over in Anise is definitely something I don’t quite have in my mainly nudes, corals, and reds lipgloss collection which makes me love it even more. On my lips it comes out as a gorgeous warm red-brown. I see myself carrying this into the winter months as well since it has a Snow White-esque to it.
* This post is not sponsored by Arbonne. They did send me these even without asking for a review in return, but I truly love every one of their lip products that I though they deserved a mention!
