In early spring I did a review on Jealous Body’s Coconut + Coffee scrub and loved it to major bits. Since all you need for an effective and fun scrub down are just two scoops it has lasted me a long time that I even still have a bit of it left hanging out in my shower. Well, Jealous Body is back at it again with some new scrubs that target all different types of skin and their specific needs.
Jealous Body released 4 new scrubs: Almond + Coffee (improves skin complexion), Cocoa + Almond (balances oil production & repairs skin), Grapeseed + Macadamia (balances oil production & tightens skin), and Almond + Macadamia (helps skin irritations & complexion). It also states on their advertisements that all their scrubs are vegan, handmade, pet friendly (in other words cruelty free), and photogenic (cute description!).
I was lucky to test this baby out a week before it’s release and so I received the Almond + Macadamia scrub, which is suggested for dry and mature skin. Although I’m neither of these skin types I thought I won’t be so quick to judge without trying it out. Just like the previous scrub I’ve tried this one includes premium fresh Robusta coffee grounds, but instead is mixed with cold pressed 100% natural sweet almond oil, macadamia nut oil, raw brown sugar, sea salt, vitamins A, E and D, and other minerals.
It promises to reduce the appearance cellulite, eczema, stretch marks, age spots, varicose veins, psoriasis, and acne while the brown sugar and sea salt exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin. The almond and macadamia oils help to relieve dry irritated skin, improve the look of your complexion, balance oil production, and work to help with any other skin imperfections.
After the one week trial with this delicious smelling scrub, I realized I did have some stubborn dry and flaky patches on my body after all – especially on my shoulders, under my chin, legs, and feet. With using this super moisturizing scrub it has seriously helped smooth out those patches and has left my skin extremely soft and smooth. There’s still a little bit more work needed, but I know that after continuous use it will fully get rid of the dry areas on my body. I thought that since it’s targeted towards dry skin it would be a bad idea to apply it on my oily face, but I went ahead and experimented anyways and it did not make my skin any oilier – in fact it did balance out the oil production just like what it said it would do.
Coincidentally Jealous Body has released 4 of their new scrubs on the 4th of July, so if you’d like to grab any of the 4 including the Almond + Macadamia that I just reviewed you can head to their website and be one of the first to own these scrubs as well! xo.
