Happy August, everyone! Why does summer have to go by so quickly?! If only winter did the same it wouldn’t be so bad…sigh. So I’m here today to share more food porn with you. My last post on Easy Vegan Meals sparked some of your interests, so I thought I’d do another one but with yummy treats instead. While there are many different types of vegans out there, I’ve got to admit that I’m not the type who eats 100% healthy and clean 24/7 (that just ain’t happening).
It’s been a bit of a journey, but to find delicious and easy to make alternatives to my once favourite treats before I changed my diet has been a wonderful breakthrough. I love knowing I can still have it all! These are 5 of my favourites that pretty much go on repeat throughout the weeks.
The perfect treat for those with a sweet tooth! I love to prepare this super easy and tasty non-dairy ice cream. Blended frozen bananas, almond milk, and a dash of vanilla extract – topped with blueberries and more bananas.
Mid-day papaya snack.
This is another easy to prepare healthy snack. Best served with lime drizzled on top for some extra kick.
Infused iced tea.
It’s been a hot summer here so making refreshing drinks is a must and has helped a lot to cool down! Chilled Japanese green tea infused with mint, lemon, lime, and strawberries.
My personal favourite breakfast to prepare on a Sunday morning – oatmeal banana pancakes! Blended oats, banana, almond milk, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and cinnamon for extra delicious flavour. Topped with blueberries, strawberries, and Canadian maple syrup. Recipe is from fablunch.com.
Chocolate chip cookies.
And people think vegans have to give up a lot on this lifestyle, but looky what we have here. Every ingredient is vegan including the chocolate chips! I swear I crave these in my sleep. Full recipe is on dailyrebecca.com.
