In time

Let’s just say it’s been a rough start to May. I’ve been on a new healthy lifestyle journey since the beginning of this year. In Toronto we don’t really have spring, so summer just pops up and surprises us whenever it feels like it. That being said, I decided my fitness needed to be on point for bikini season. I follow monthly Pilates calendars but I wanted to kick it up a notch by adding in some weights after my daily routine. Amateur me thought I’d get fancy and do more than the required repetitions – mind you it’s been quite awhile since I’ve used anything besides my own body weight for exercise. So guess what? I ended up pulling the muscle in my arm!

I got an x-ray done today and now I’m here having to take it easy for a couple days. It got me thinking about the small things we take for granted every single day. Our arms, legs, eyesight, hearing are just some of those things we use or don’t use enough of that we are very fortunate to have. It’s disappointing that we never realize how powerful our bodies are until something goes wrong. Not being as mobile as I usually am has put me on hiatus and a reflecting mode to better take care of my body since I only have this one.

Wearing: American Eagle Open Cardigan [alternative], Forever 21 Knit V-Neck Cami [here], American Eagle Mid-Rise Jeans [similar], ASOS Double Compartment Cross Body Bag [here], Forever 21 Faux Suede Loafers [here].

Along with that, my outfits have been matching my feelings. Instead of opting for sweatpants and hoodies I always try to make an effort to look good even when I’m not feeling the greatest. Maybe it’s just me but it’s my way of fooling myself into thinking I’m fine. When you’re not feeling your best how do you like to dress? By the way, what I’ve learned is that it’s never the best option to google your symptoms which can create a lot of unnecessary paranoia.

I hope you’re having a wonderful month so far! Xo.

Gutted that your month started quite badly for you. I hope you will feel better soon and your arm will get better too. When I am feeling low, I usually dress comfortably and very simply. Also, googling symptoms does no good, it only causes paranoia, trust me, I know from experience, haha.

Haha, I like when you said we don’t really have spring here in TO and summer just pops up and surprises us whenever it feels like it. That is so true. One minute the weather is crap and the next, it’s gorgeous. I used to do Pilates religiously but after my 2nd daughter I just stopped, not sure why. I need a fitness routine badly. Try to take it easy and hope you recover soon. x

Yess!! But seriously I just want stable warm weather, is that so hard to ask for for this city?! It might be…
I don’t have kids myself but I can imaging they can be a handful and I’m sure you get your workout from them in other ways! Thanks so much xo!

I hope this month will get better for you soon! And you’re right, googling symptoms is probably one the worst things one can do. It always makes me think I’m dying. And yes, we take all these things for granted until we are having trouble – just like we take food for granted or electricity and only truly appreciate them when they’re absent. I really like your outfit, I also try to make an effort when I’m not feeling my best – and it often works and makes me feel better. xx

Google is the worst at this lol, especially when you start to dig deep into forums and that’s where you get really scared for your life! This is all true, we don’t realize what we have until it’s gone. We should all be thankful everyday for what we have 🙂

  14. I hope your arm feels better. I like the chic black outfit. When I’m feeling blah…I like to be comfy…that usually means wearing something black and stretchy. xx-S
