Whether we think it or not, hair rules us all. Our hair says a lot about our personality and lifestyle. Some of you may not know but I was a trained and practicing hairstylist before so I’ve heard it all – from hair concerns to even personal concerns (hairstylist tend to be people’s therapists as well). Surprisingly enough I’m still on the search for the perfect hair products as well. I don’t update my hair care too often, only really when I get a dramatic change in hair colour. These are a few new hair products I got to try out and have been loving.
Joico Color Balance Blue Shampoo & Conditioner
I recently ditched the much lighter toned hair to be a brunette again, and so my hairstylist recommended this Joico shampoo to help manage my new hue. I’ve only known about purple shampoos for blonde hair so when I saw there was a blue shampoo for brown hair I thought that was awesome! Blue on brown hair helps to eliminate overly warm or orange tones that you get when colouring your hair. I’m usually not that impressed when it comes to conditioners but this one by far has been the best I’ve tried. It gets rid of a lot of frizz and is super moisturizing to my naturally dry course curly hair.
Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner
I received this as a sample awhile back and have never used it until recently. I’ve tried many leave-in conditioners before so I honestly didn’t expect it to work as well as it does at keeping my hair conditioned. This has so far been the best at moisturizing my hair, helping with tangles, and even leaving a bit of shine. Every thick haired girl or guy needs this in their life!
Luxor Pro 1.5-inch Vented Tourmaline Round Brush
My hairstylist was using a similar brush to this when blowdrying my hair and I loved the results it gave. I can’t get it exactly the way she did but close enough (it just takes a bit more practice)! With the right techniques using this brush you can achieve really beautiful waves – almost like a modern old Hollywood, if that’s making any sense. My one con with this brush as you can see is that the handle broke off after less than a week, but there’s nothing a little bit of electric tape can’t do. If you’re still new when it comes to blowdrying I would suggest you go for a bigger barrel actually because if you’re not experienced with a small barrel brush it will get caught in your hair and it will be hard to untangle your hair out.
