The warmer temperatures have finally gotten me out of the house and exploring the outdoors again which has been putting me in a joyful mood (must be all that vitamin D coming back into my system). With new weather comes new beginnings, and with new beginnings comes new makeup! Toto Beau was kind enough to send me a bunch of their goodies to try out. All of their makeup is paraben free, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, not tested on animals, high quality, and made in Canada.
This is one the products that I was most excited to try out since I was told it’s very comparable to the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, and I must say it is extremely comparable. The smooth texture and the way it sits on the skin with or without your foundation creates a great finish.
The photos of the shadows on the website are a bit deceiving so before receiving Luxury I was expecting a light warm beige colour when actually in reality it’s a taupey brown – but don’t be fooled, depending on how heavy of a hand you use this shadow can easily be turned into a light shade of satin warm brown or an intense medium brown (close to being MAC’s Satin Taupe but not quite). This is easily one of my favourites already.
Again the colour was different in person from the website which is displayed as a light purple when in reality is closer to a deep darker purple. Nonetheless it’s a very pretty shade which would be perfect when doing a purple smokey eye or to line along the bottom waterline as a replacement of black for a less harsh look.
These blushes are highly pigmented so a little (emphis on “a little”) seriously goes a long way. I don’t own too many matte blushes so I was really glad to add this one to my collection since this is the perfect flush of colour for everyday wear. When applied with a blush brush it looks very natural on and helps to warm up your overall look.
I’m an island girl at heart so I’m always attracted to tropical colours especially when it comes down to anything in the orange family (corals, peaches, etc), so I was quickly drawn to this beauty. Again, all you need is a little bit and it finishes off your cheeks with an amazing peach glow. Once I get a summer tan I know this will used like crazy.
Tutti Frutti Lipstick
Again the colour from the Toto Beau website was a bit off from what the lipstick actually is, however I do really love the texture of this lipstick. It’s very moisturizing, comfortable on the lips, and includes vitamin E in it’s formula (awesome!). I’ve been beginning to like pinks recently so I can see myself wearing this out to meet up with friends for a lunch or something along the lines of that.
Maxed Out Lipstick (Spring Collection)
I was very lucky to be sent the next 2 lipsticks I’m about to mention since they are both new spring additions to the Toto Beau collection. Maxed Out is a gorgeous fuchsia pink which is totally fit for spring. It’s a statement colour without being intimating at all to wear. Just like Tutti Frutti, this one is also very comfortable, moisturizing, and with vitamin E.
Turn On Matte Liquid Lipstick (Spring Collection)
I’m not at all a girl who usually grabs for reds, in fact it’s probably because I haven’t found my perfect red – but that’s until now. This red leans more on the orangey side oppose to a true red, and I love, love, love it! The brush made it surprisingly easy for applying the colour even without any lip liner. I’ve already thrown it into my everyday makeup bag.
All-Over Fluffy Kabuki Brush
This has to be the most perfect handmade kabuki brush I’ve ever encountered. It’s super soft, extremely dense, and aside all that the colour and design are so adorable. It applies pressed powder like a dream and helps blend out any possible caking.
Goat Hair Blending Brush
When I was in makeup school I received a squirrel haired blending brush and I’ve been using it even since, however I’m liking how effortlessly and quickly this one blended my eye makeup.
Crease Shadow Brush
If you have hooded eyelids you would know the problems we have with finding a crease brush that is small enough to actually be used as a crease brush for our eyes. I don’t know what it is but the hairs on this brush are also easy to manipulate so it can also be used for applying shadows to the bottom lash line.
Overall my most favourited products had to be all the lipsticks, primer, the Luxury eyeshadow, and the makeup brushes (especially the crease brush). Toto Beau has high quality and promising pigmentation so I totally recommend them.
