Skincare on trial

Any beauty blogger or enthusiast would know that constantly testing out different beauty products can take a toll on our skin for the worse sometimes. That’s why finding the products that do help to heal and bounce the skin back into a healthier state are probably some of the most important products we will even need. I’ve spent about a month with these guys and things have turned out for the better.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water & Waterproof Makeup Remover
We all know going to bed in your makeup is a big no no – and if you’re lazy then this is a product you need in your life. As much as I loved the Bioderma Sébium H2O the price just doesn’t cut it. After ages of finally deciding on changing it up I went for the alternative cleansing water, and I must say I feel like the Garnier one works even better. This is something that has made my routine so much easier since it quickly and efficiently removes all makeup.

Ciracle Red Spot Cream
Whether I like it or not the aftermath of any pimple always likes to leave it’s mark and can take up to months for it to fully disappear. Since I didn’t believe any products can help with scaring, discolouration, or hyperpigmentation I never really bothered until I saw a lot of amazing reviews on this Korean healing cream. Having only been using this for a month I was quite surprised to see how much it has helped old scars fade and new scars disappear within just a few days.

b.liv Repair & Rescue Sensitive Salvation Original Japan Silk Mask
Just like with any skincare product – finding the right sheet masks that are suitable for your skin type is just as valuable for you to achieve the best results and benefits that the product has to offer. I’ve been loving this repair mask that has key ingredients such as ginkgo, sea fennel callus culture, and licorice extracts to calm down irritated and sensitive skin. I always make it a point to alternate between sheet masks and clay masks at least twice a week now and have been seeing my skin improve.

Jamieson Zinc Tablets
I know this isn’t exactly a skincare product but zinc is known to help clear up troubled skin. Research has shown that people with acne have lower levels of zinc so taking a supplement helps to ward off and reduce the inflammation and bacteria that cause breakouts. I’ve added this zinc supplement into my daily diet just under three weeks ago and have already noticed that I breakout a lot less – I honestly couldn’t be any happier!

What are some of your favourite skincare products recently?

So true, lately I’ve stopped accepting skincare collabs and only stick to the brands I know. If they contact me then I happily accept but if they’re a brand I don’t know I kindly decline. Skin products are one of those things that can either be really good or really bad and screw with your skin. Lo, that being said I love Garnier products so I’ll try checking out their cleansing water <3

Very true, there have been a few products that really messed up my skin and took awhile for it to recover back to normal. I’m all about trying out new brands but they also need to be trusted ones.

  3. I’m really curious to try the Repair & Rescue silk mask. It sounds so luxurious and like it would be perfect for my skin! I’m so happy to hear zinc is helping with your acne. I have tried it at points during my life but haven’t found that to be the case for me and always wished it was!

You should give it a try, I think this is my favourite mask I’ve tried so far in their collection 🙂
I’ve heard zinc not work on some people so you’re not alone! Have you ever tried vitamin A? I’ve tried vitamin A before and didn’t really see any difference but with zinc I have. Each person is different so maybe if you haven’t you should give vitamin A a try too 🙂

  4. i’ve actually been wanting to try the garnier water thing but i found out they’re not cruelty-free </3 i really do want to try it out x

Omg no way! Well looks like I’m going to have to switch it up afterwards. I’m still trying to figuring out my beauty products to be vegan :[ it takes time I guess, but thanks for letting me know for next time!

    Cool beauty picks! Great review!

  6. I really need to try that Garnier one. The other day my friend was raving about this Micellar water in particular, but I decided to try another brand instead. It’s been ok, I was a little disappointed it couldn’t remove some blue hair chalk that stubbornly got on my hands, and maybe I’m being a little harsh here, but still. ;o)

  7. I had NO idea about the zinc! I need to pick some up ASAP. I don’t have problematic acne anymore but still get them fairly often. Great post – and super helpful. Definitely some great products to look into 🙂
