Spring fresh face

If you’re not quite the winter person such as myself, then I’m sure you’re just as excited as I am about spring’s arrival! It’s time to put away the heavy coats, wouldn’t you say? I kept my makeup pretty basic along with a matte lip throughout the winter so I felt with the changing of seasons it was time to switch things up.

I knew I wanted to change somethings with the way I applied makeup but wasn’t too sure just how. Luckily, Wet n Wild kindly sent over some of their new colours for spring for me to play with. I haven’t used too many highlighters in the past since the idea of adding more shine onto my already oily skin sounded a bit frightening. However, the combination of all the different tones in their highlighters made my skin look glowing without looking like it was time to take out the blotting papers.

As much as I love a good black eyeliner it’s refreshing to tryout a brown liquid eyeliner for once. In fact, it might be a new favourite since it still has the impact of a black eyeliner but looks more natural. Purples are not only beautiful on brown eyes but they also help the deepest of shades pop. I’ve experimented with purple eyeshadows but never with an eye pencil, and I must say it’s something I wouldn’t mind rocking out more than once in awhile! You can choose how heavy you want it to be which is perfect for those who usually shy away from colour.

Almost everyone loves the ongoing matte lip trend happening right now, but every now and then it’s always fun to switch things up. I’ll be one to admit that nude lip colours wash me out a lot, but with a few tricks it’s possible for anyone to pull off any type of nude. I especially think the combination of a nude matte lip colour underneath a berry lipgloss perfectly finishes off the look and is also wearable for anyone.

On my face.

Mega Glo Contouring Palette – Dulce de Leche
Mega Glo Illuminating Palette – Catwalk Pink
To Reflect Shimmer Palette – Boozy Brunch
ProLine Felt Tip Eyeliner – Dark Brown
On Edge Long Wearing Eye Pencil – Violet Offender
Velvet Matte Lip Color – Nude Streak
Megaslicks Lip Gloss – Rasp-berry Voice

Is there anything you’re thinking about doing differently with your makeup this spring?

  1. Your makeup looks gorgeous, as do you! As we move into spring I’ll probably go for a dewyer foundation and hope that my skin gets a bit of its glow back. So I’ll probably keep it light and bright. 😀

You look absolutely flawless; you seriously have such beautiful skin and these products look fab on you. I adore ‘dewy’ beauty looks at the moment and so the idea of shinier skin sounds good to me for Spring! 🙂

I don’t know a lot about make up, but when it comes to it I really think that these kind of options (the naturals) looks better! And the pop of colors are also a really good idea!

Well done, it looks really natural 😉

  25. It’s funny because I must be the opposite to you, we’ve just been through summer in Australia and I can’t wait for the weather to cool down so I can start wearing all of my heavier coats again!

I really love this look as well, it’s so lovely and fresh- the purple is a gorgeous addition for those of us with brown eyes especially.

    • Stacey says:

Oh true, Australia has winter when it’s summer here and vise versa! I will gladly hand over my heavy coats to you hahah I’m so done with cold and just want the warm sun on my skin <33
Yesss brown eyed girl power hhah I always thought it was hard to make brown eyes pop but purple really does justice
