A few world travel essentials

When we finally do make time for traveling, it can be difficult deciding on what to take with us. We all know it’s best to travel as light as possible since we don’t always know where our adventure is going to take us. However, there are a few things that are a must to have on our trip so that it’s easy and memorable. Don’t forget to pack these!

One thing you definitely need when traveling around the world is a camera. You will get to see amazing sights, explore interesting things about the culture, and meet some awesome people along the way that you will want to remember forever. If you rely too much on your phone and you lose it, or it stops working, you will lose your pictures – that should be your backup if anything. Therefore, go for a reliable camera which you can easily take along with you. It also means you will get high-quality pictures from your trip to show your friends and family on Instagram.

A backpack is the perfect essential to have when traveling since it carries everything you need for the day. If you choose a stylist one, you will not look like a tourist – promise! Unless if you’re planning on going hiking or camping, then that’s a whole different story. The best part is you could use it as your hand luggage when you do go on the plane. You can choose a good backpack which will last you throughout all seasonal changes. Check out great backpacks on sites like prepper gear which are ideal for the outdoorsy types.

Comfortable shoes
It’s also important to have a good comfortable pair of shoes when you’re going to be doing a ton of walking, or knowingly going to be on your feet all day long. Walking is and always will be the best way to get around when you are exploring the streets of a new country. You see so much more and get a better feel of your surrounding than being stuck on a tour bus, which I don’t condone. Yes, we all want to look good while traveling, so again opt for a pair of comfortable ‘exploring shoes’ that best suit your personal style.

Regardless of this mention, we’re all attached to our phones by the hip that we instinctively must bring it with us every single place we go. As long as you’re not using your phone the way you would on a lonely weekday night at home while your traveling, it’s actually a very helpful tool to have on you. As well as being able to contact people in emergencies, it’s GPS system is also useful as a temporary map. There are tons of free apps out there for you to choose from that help you schedule your flights and organize your itinerary. Having a portable charger with you also helps!

This may come off a bit strange, but having a flashlight on hand is a lot more useful than you think. It’s a great way to ensure you have light if you do get lost if you’re out somewhere that you’re unfamiliar with and misplace your phone. As this feature explains, you don’t know when the electricity will go out while you are away. I can’t always rely on the torch app on your phone people!

What are some of your traveling essentials?

These are great list of essentials! I sometimes don’t bring my camera anymore as my iPhone 6 has pretty good camera and I am less paranoid about losing my camera.

A lot of cameras are compact now, but I totally get how a smartphone camera is super convenient and has a pretty good camera as well!

I always use the light on my phone but a flashlight is practical if you misplace your phone as you said.
