In the summertime I like to stray from using foundations everyday. Instead, I opt for BB or CC creams. The sun can do serious damage to your skin if not protected properly. BB and CC creams normally have primer, skincare benefits, makeup, and sunscreen all-in-one so this is perfect to add-on to your summer regimen!
Oily skin women must choose wisely though since a lot of these creams can be overly moisturizing and leave your face even more oily or shiny. But have no fear! Here are my tried and tested for your oily skin:
Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35 (Light/Medium)
This was my first try at a North American BB cream, so the consistently and coverage were a lot different from what I was use to. Nonetheless, it grew on me when I took it on vacation. I still would not define this as a true BB cream, but it still does a wonderful job. It leaves my skin looking very natural (my skin but better) and oil-free for most of the day.
Tarte BB Tinted Treatment SPF 30 (Medium)
As mentioned in my previous post about how to control oily skin, this one is a current summer 2014 favourite. It goes on like silk and leaves a matte finish.
Manhattan Clear Face 9 in 1 BB Cream SPF 15 (Medium to Dark)
I haven’t been too impressed with a lot of drugstore BB creams – that’s until I found this one. It goes on light yet has amazing coverage. The best part is how it fights blemishes throughout the day! It’s perfect for those skin problem days.
Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (Medium to Tan)
I am definitely in a love/hate relationship with this CC cream. I LOVE the coverage and how it makes me skin look naturally flawless. However, if you are super oily like me – after an hour or 2 in the sun, you will look like a grease pan (yikes). But I love it so much!! WHY!!? This will probably work best on less humid days or in the Spring or Autumn seasons.
