Happy Friday everyone! A lot of you may have the long weekend ahead before school or work starts up again so I thought it would be fun to talk about makeup that you could possibly add into your new look for the year. Who doesn’t love a matte lip? It took me a long awhile but I finally started building on my collection of the NYX Matte Lip Creams. I now have 10 in total of the 22 shades available. Although I have 10 shades I decided to just share 7 of my favourites and that I would recommend.
You can never go wrong with an effortless red, especially when it’s the most universal red you’d ever encounter. Not only would it suit most or all skin tones but it’s definitely one of those reds that you can easily apply that don’t need a lip liner to go with it. I also love the fact that this red makes teeth look white – if not whiter.
I have a lot of trouble finding the right nudes for my skin tone and I notice a lot of the popular ones out there only look best on cooler skin. Stockholm isn’t a type of nude I’d really ever think twice about wearing but I don’t mind it. I like the way it looks on me in the summer more than in the winter since when I have a paler skin tone it really washes me out.
There’s plenty of swatches out there on all the NYX Matte Lip Creams, however this one always confused me the most. It could probably be the lighting but it seems to look different on every person. On some people it looks peachy but on me it comes out more on the pinker side. Regardless of it’s mood changing tone I do like the way this mid-tone pink looks on.
With it’s warm tones I can see this being a favourite lip colour going into the fall season. It has plum and berry tones which again is another lip colour I see looking great on just about everyone.
A friend of mine recommended that I get this for an everyday lip colour, and she was right. It looks so natural on that you could easily fool people [maybe even yourself] into thinking that it’s you’re natural lip colour. I’ve also tried putting a little bit of a pink lip gloss on top and it makes it pop even more as well.
If I had to choose my favourites out of these 7 this and San Paulo are my number one’s. On my lips they are close to being similar but Ibiza is like the sister of San Paulo since they both add a certain spice to your look. Ibiza is definitely the summery one though since she’s more on the bright rosy side. It might be weird to say but this colour makes me confident and feeling my best.
This is very much a steal for the Kylie Jenner lip colour that is on trend right now. It’s that perfect mauve that paired with a lip liner can look extra amazing on. For sure this is also another colour that can easily transition into fall.
